Summer Term 2010

INTRODUCTION

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the website of the maths games & puzzle day.

As ‘the UK’s leading provider of fun and effective mathematical activities’, we are primarily concerned with improving children’s mental arithmetic skills and, just as important, feeding their enthusiasm towards maths through innovative programmes, mainly delivered in schools.

Regularly referred to as The Maths Man by teachers up and down the country,
Paul Godding is a qualified and experienced mathematician whose background covers over 20 years teaching in mathematics education, at all levels and all ages.

The main objective of our organisation is to ensure that mathematics and numeracy is made fun for children by delivering exciting educational programmes. This is successfully achieved by utilising appropriate resources that can be used in the home environment as well as in the classroom.

Fun while learning!the maths games & puzzle day, which is our main programme, is a unique and exciting maths event. During a typical school visit, the children participate in various activities, which include playing a range of excellent number-related board games and other games which involve logic, strategy and spatial/visual awareness.

Also used during the maths workshops are a number of superb card games, ideal for enhancing the children's thinking skills, as well as a few tricky puzzles which they attempt at the end of each session. Fun while learning!

For more information on the maths games & puzzle day, please click on the link to visit the page. It's a fabulous maths show that every child will thoroughly enjoy and benefit from greatly!

We are very different to other educational organisations in that our programmes are delivered entirely through the use of these excellent mathematical games. My company can also act as a consultant in an advisory capacity regarding the use of the games, particularly in schools. We have always strongly encouraged parents to become closely involved with the education of their children, outside school hours, by using these excellent resources in a fun and non-threatening way at home.

Some of the games now used in our maths roadshow are our very own creations and are proving very popular with teachers and children. To find out more about mathematically possible, 7puzzle and legends, just click on the appropriate link at the top of the page.

Please feel free to visit the rest of the website to read about the activities we deliver and the resources used in our programmes. These games and puzzles are also available for purchase. In addition, you can also view the reaction we've had from our school visits and browse over our beliefs and philosophies regarding the company's activities.

More and more schools are now organising their own dedicated Maths Day or Maths Week and many arrange for a visiting mathematician or maths presenter to work with the children, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like our fun maths workshop to form an integral part of your school's celebrations.

I guarantee The Maths Man will make it a maths visit to remember!
